unu electric scooters are now available in Amsterdam
This week we’re saying “hoi” to Amsterdam, which is becoming the first Dutch unu city. With its clear sustainable agenda we’re excited to become part of a European capital that is focusing on creating smart and electric mobility solutions for everyone.
Amsterdam is one of the most bicycle and scooter friendly cities in the world. On this note it seems fair to say that being Dutch is not defined by having tulips in your garden or living up to other cheesy prejudices. The Dutch way of life is more about being perfectly comfortable and stylish on two wheels than anything else. With their love for bicycles and scooters the Dutch people make Amsterdam one of the most green capitals in the world. The city is an example for conscious living where everyone’s quality of life is increased by the empowerment of new sustainable mobility solutions making it the perfect place to launch for unu electric scooters. We already outlined in this blog post that one of the biggest challenges of our times is dealing with the effects of climate change. At unu we’re fully committed and proud to do everything we can to make people’s life more sustainable with our electric scooter that allows you to cruise the city with 45km/h, zero emission and no regrets. Owning an unu electric scooter means adding a positive impact on the world every day by being conscious about the environment with every ride.
The Dutch launch of unu electric scooter is very exciting because the Netherlands and especially Amsterdam already decided on a fully sustainable and progressive agenda a long time ago. The Dutch government agreed on a motion that petrol and diesel cars should be banned from sale by the year of 2025 making the country more electric every year. In 2016 The European Commission has awarded the European Capital of Innovation (iCapital) award to Amsterdam and according to the Sustainable Amsterdam Project the city is focusing on creating better sustainable living solutions for everyone in the city every day. The project outlines that nowadays cities shouldn’t be polluted and dangerous places anymore, like they were for too long - cities should be places of joy and discovery, which also includes alternative electric mobility solutions:
Amsterdam is dedicated to remaining a frontrunner in electric transport and strives to ensure that as much traffic in the city as possible is emission free. The city is constantly growing and as such, we need to ensure that the city becomes stronger, healthier and more liveable by 2025.
With unu our goal is it to give people the opportunity to be a part of the urban mobility change. unu electric scooters allow you to be more flexible and fast while still being green. This makes our electric scooter the perfect alternative if your bike is too slow for daily business interactions or if you don’t want to rely on public transport.
unu is based on a business model where no retailers are involved, so in order to give people the best experience unu electric scooter is introducing its pioneer program in the Dutch capital. We have established a pioneer system that allows people to book test rides with the two unu pioneers Lotje and Jochum in Amsterdam. This way people can try the emission free and 100% electric scooter experience however it fits their daily schedule. The only thing they have to do is sign up for a test drive with an electric scooter on the unu page and Jochum and Lotje will let them experience the city for themselves on a silent ride.
Just as Amsterdam unu has signed up to prove that smart can also be sexy. With our scooter you get the ideal combination of efficiency and aesthetics to discover the Dutch creative hubs. With unu electric scooters you can park anywhere, even in the tiniest canal streets, on your favorite bridge of choice, or right in front of your favorite museum. Starting with Amsterdam the unu electric scooters will also be available in other cities in the Netherlands soon to continue the electric revolution, this way unu is making the world a bit more sustainable - scooter by scooter, day by day.
